Lawncare in the summer – Keep Grass a Little Longer

Lawncare in the summer – Keep Grass a Little Longer:

When you keep your grass maintained a little bit higher than you would in the cooler months, the roots will extend deeper into the earth and helps to prevent weeds from popping up. Weeds compete with grass for water and not having them in the first place will keep you grass healthier.

Keep Your Mower Blades Sharp!

Grass that isn’t cut with sharp blades will start to fray and should be avoided because this makes it more prone to browning.

Don’t Bag, Mulch Instead!

Mulched grass will actually help to trap moisture in and helps keep your lawn at a cooler temperature while hydrating it. This is why we think you should reconsider next time you go to bag your lawn clippings!

Water in the Morning:

It’s smart to water in the morning when it’s hot out because less water will be lost to evaporation from the sunlight. By watering your lawn in the morning, you’re also giving it more time to fully dry before nightfall. Half an inch, twice a week should keep your lawn nice and hydrated.

Plant Some Trees!

Trees may not grow overnight but they will provide shade for years to come. Trees have many benefits including: improving air quality, increasing property value, and creating a relaxing environment for your home. It will require a little bit of patience but the payout is well worth it.
